Published on the occasion of Mark Grotjahn's 2005 Los Angeles exhibition at Anton Kern Gallery, "Drawings" contains some of the artist's best known works including those from the famous "Butterfly" series. These works, created using colored pencil on paper, were explained by Grotjahn as an artist trying to solve problems of space and order using geometry and color. "Black and Cream Butterfly", is used to illustrate the binding, and is one of 62 color images represented in this book. A great catalog promoting Grotjahn's obsessive and vivid compositions.
